Terms of Appointment for Equipment Auditors and Race Officials
An Australian Sailing Race Officials appointment begins on the date approval is granted by AS. The duration of appointment shall be not more than four years from the date approval is granted.

Race Officials Accreditation Guide
Note: Australian Sailing has released a new Race Officer Policy. The accreditation and re-accreditation process along with other Race Officer related information can be found in the Race Officer specific new webpage HERE.
To accredit or reaccredit as an Australian Sailing Official you are required to:
- Be a current member of an Australian Sailing affiliated Club.
- Agree to the Officials Code of Conduct.
- Meet any specific accreditation or reaccreditation criteria outlined in the policy document (specific to each discipline).

Note: Measurer and Umpire courses:
- Measurers must supply a Class or Association Letter of Endorsement, Performance Assessment and Event Experience Log with any accreditation.
- Measurers re-accreditation requires Class or Association Letter of Endorsement and a Performance Assessment or seminar attendance or Event Experience Log.
- Umpires must complete the exam to reaccredit.

Recognition of Prior Learning:
There are many ways a Race Official can show evidence of the competencies held prior to accreditation. Some examples of evidence that can be provided to demonstrate competencies include:
- Resume of your experience.
- Reports from other Australian Sailing recognised Officials.
- Evidence of home/self-directed study that may include a list of recent readings, synopsis of seminars attended, reports of own research/analysis undertaken.
- Relevant work examples e.g. training programs, videos of your officiating.
- Copies of Certificates, qualifications achieved from other courses, school or tertiary results.
- Statements outlining courses and/or study that you have undertaken and the learning outcomes/competencies achieved from these
