The IRC and ORC Rating seasons are set around the European summer which is why they come to an end in our winter. Although it feels like an odd time of the year, one positive to come out of it is that the changeover happens when we have slightly less sailing here in Australia. 

All information for the new season will become available on the Australian Sailing website once the changeover come into effect.  

IRC ratings certificates will expire on 31st May with ORC expiring on 30th June, all certificates from that time will need to be revalidated.  Any changes to the boat’s details, sails or weight can be made at the time of revalidation so now is the time to have sails remeasured or boats reweighed in readiness for the new ratings season.

Existing boat owners will receive an email from the Australian Sailing rating department as a reminder when the change over comes into effect.
