Rules Specialist Group Appointments

Published Wed 17 Jun 2020

Australian Sailing welcomes new and continuing appointments to the Rules Specialist Group who provide advice to the sailors, clubs, and race officials on technical matters within the Racing Rules of Sailing.

The Rules Specialist Group was formed by Australian Sailing with the express purpose of bringing together the best rule expertise available in Australia. The Group is comprised of International and National Umpires and Judges who volunteer their time and knowledge to help the sport of sailing. Areas of work include leading the appeal panels and providing opinions on the RRS.

The appointments confirmed earlier this year are:
•    John Standley
•    Steven Hatch
•    Jonathon Rees
•    Richard Slater
•    Damien Boldyrew
•    Darren Eger
•    Tracey Heritage
•    Murray Jones

Race officials, clubs and sailors are invited to present questions to the Rules Specialist Group. Questions and answers are published for the benefit of the sailing community.

Reading the Rules Specialist Group opinions can be a good way to improve your knowledge on the RRS. You can find the opinions listed at: https://www.sailingresources.org.au/class-assoc/rsg/
