Updating Qualifications and other Certificates

People who have an Australian Sailing number, and hold varying accredited qualifications with Australian Sailing are required to maintain an accurate Australian Sailing profile.

This profile can hold instructor, coach or officials qualifications, as well course history and other certificates you may hold such as first-aid, working with children check and your state boat licence.

Update Australian Sailing Powerboat Certificate

Some people may hold equivalent powerboat certificates either from previous Australian Sailing programs (e.g. TL3, etc) or overseas qualifications (e.g. Powerboat Level 2). There are a number of non-Australian Sailing qualifications/certificates that you may wish to ‘hold’ on your Australian Sailing profile. The following options are available:

Update my Australian Sailing Instructor/Coach Qualifications

Your Instructor/Coach Qualification is valid for five years and during this period Instructors must:

• Maintain a current Applied First Aid Certificate
• Comply with Working with Children legislation in your State/Territory. For more information on this, click here.
• Comply with relevant State Maritime Licence requirements
• Pay an Annual Renewal fee - Provides insurance to accredited instructors and coaches, as well as providing free access to annual conferences.
• Following five years Instructors must reaccredit their qualification by registering to be assessed. The reaccreditation is free and registration forms can be found below.

To apply for Racing Instructor level qualification you must register in the below FREE applications and provide evidence of your racing experience at at least state level.

Update Officials Qualifications

To apply for approval as an Australian Sailing Race Official or Equipment Auditor please use the free Accreditation or Re-accreditation Application Form. This will allow you to submit any required documentation (acquired within the last 4 years) to support your application.
