Published Tue 02 Apr 2024

The Senior National Equipment Auditor Committee has had a change of chairperson.

John Easton has stood down as chair of the Senior National Equipment Auditor Committee with the role to be taken up by Shane Connelly (pictured). John was chair of the committee for 7 years, he was instrumental in creating the Safety in Focus eDM as a way to communicate to Equipment Auditors Australia wide. John has been a member of the National Safety Committee for over 8 years and has been part of the decisions around 17 amendments to the Special Regulations during that time. Australian Sailing and the Senior National Equipment Auditors would like to thank John for his many years of guidance and experience he bought to the committee.

Shane Connelly, who is taking on the role of chair is prominent offshore sailor in the two-handed division, sailing out of Sydney.  He is a member of the Australian Sailing National Safety Committee and brings with him a wealth of knowledge from both his offshore and two-handed experiences.
