Interesting updates from World Sailing and other National Authorities:

Published Mon 10 Feb 2020

World Sailing has released some updates to the Case and Call Books both of which are authoritative documents on the rules.

The latest supplement to the World Sailing Case Book, can be found at http://www.sailing.org/documents/caseandcall/case-book.php.

World Sailing has posted the 2020 Supplement to the Call Book for Match Racing. For 2020 there are four new calls:

Call B19
Call E8
Call E11
Call K6

The supplement can be obtained here https://www.sailing.org/documents/caseandcall/call_book_match.php.

Other national authorities such as US Sailing and the RYA can be a good source of helpful information. Please be mindful that these resources are a guide only as national authorities are not considered authoritative to World Sailing.

The RYA has added more cases in the RYA Case Book. The cases are RYA 2017-01 on Rule 19.1 and Rule 19.2(c), and RYA 2019/1 regarding Rule 76.1 Exclusion of Boats or Competitors.

US Sailing has information at https://www.ussailing.org/competition/rules-officiating/#racing-rules-appeals. Attention is drawn to their most recent appeal at https://www.racingrulesofsailing.org/cases/1467?page=27

We recommend that you try to check in on these from time to time if you are interested in being abreast of what race officials are dealing with beyond our shores.
